What do Employers Need to Know about COVID-19 Legislation


New COVID-19 legislation is impacting healthcare plans at employers of all sizes.


We asked Sandy Krauer, director of HR at Total Focus HR Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegeant, LLC:


  1. With the rash of recent laws and programs, what are some of the key provisions that employers should be aware of?

Sandy said you may have to figure out how to incorporate these new emergency FMLA provisions into what you're already doing.


Sure, big guys such as United Healthcare or Cigna are responsible for making sure all their plans include the new requirements. But it's a good idea for those employers to check with their broker or carrier to understand what's covered.


You need to know what you've got and then communicate it to your employees because they're out there worried, too.
